Briarclan Leader

: : LEADER : :
The leader is the most respected and most trusted cat in the whole clan. They make the thoughest decisions, and are responsible for everything that goes on in the clan. They call clan meetings, appoint cats to new ranks, and do a huge number of other tasks. The word of a leader is law, as proclaimed by the warrior code, and all other cats apart of their clan must obey them. A leader has their own den in the camp, and they have a deputy that assists them and gives them advice. All clans have a leader, and their names end with the suffix, star.

: : DEPUTY : :
The clan deputy is the second highest in the clan hierarchy, just after the leader. They will take the leader's place if the leader ever passes away, retires, leaves, or is banished from the clan. If he leader is unable to due their duty to due illness, the deputy will also become temporary leader until the actual one has recovered. The deputy also assists the leader around the camp, and do a number of helpful tasks to help the clan, like going hunting or taking part in border patrols. They also make reports to the leader, and give them advice whenever they need it.

: : MEDICINE CAT : :
Medicine cats are clan cats that are highly respected throughout all the clans. They treat any sicknesses or injuries a clan member may have. They receive and interpret omens and prophecies from StarClan. Unlike warriors, medicine cats can not have a mate or kits, and they are expected to stand apart from clan rivalries. They also have their own den in the clan camp, where they sleep, store herbs and treat any sick or injured members. There are few that dare to argue with a medicine cat.

: : WARRIOR : :
Warriors are adult cats that are tasked with both feeding and protecting the clan from danger. They have been trained in the ways of hunting and fighting, in addition to the ways of the warrior code. They are brave and strong, willing to give their life just to protect their clan. All cats, at some point in their life (expect for medicine cats) will be warrior.

: : APPRENTICE : :
Apprentices are cats that are six moons or older and are training to be a warrior (or sometimes a medicine cat) under a mentor. They have their own den in the clan camp, but once the leader or their mentor thinks they have learned enough and are ready to become a warrior, they must go through their ceremony and then they move into the warrior's den. All apprentices have the suffix, paw at the end of their name. It symbolizes the path their paws are on until they receive their warrior name.

: : QUEEN : :
A queen is a female warrior that is currently expecting or nursing kits. A queen will temporarily give up her title, and warrior duties while she is raising them, but once her kits are apprenticed she will go back to being a warrior - however some females choose to stay as a queen and help out around the nursery. Queens are vital in the survival of a clan, as they give birth to the next generation of warriors. When a warrior dies, a queen may prepare the body with herbs for a vigil. If a queen does not wish to tell the clan who the father of her kits is, that is her choice, and the clan must respect that decision.

: : ELDER : :
An elder is a clan cat that has served their clan well and has now retired. They are very wise, and are held with the utmost respect by all clans. They are very knowledgeable, and leaders often go to them for advice about things that other clan members may not know much about. Most of the time, they stay in their den, however if an elder wishes to leave the camp for a walk or to hunt, they may do so. Elders also often tell stories about their experiences.

: : KIT : :
A kit is a cat under the age of six moons old, and still lives in the nursery with it's mother and littermates. They are usually very mischievous and playful, and are known to bother warriors and elders. They tend to be interested in the stories that the elders tell. Most kits are very curious to know what goes on outside of camp, and eager to begin their apprenticeship. All kits have the suffix kit at the end of their name.
